Supersprout RIP

Yesterday was an extremely sad day for my extended virtual gardening family.

We lost our very dear friend Sarah, Supersprout.

She gave so much to everyone, her humour, her wisdom and advice, her seeds and her Jerusalem Artichokes ! Most of the gardens and plots in the UK will have a little bit of Sarah growing this season.

All our thoughts are with Sarah's son Will at this terribly sad time.

Thanks for your thoughts Z. It's our collective loss. You've only got to look at any of a number of boards to see how much SS will be missed ! She was some girl !

Glad I can see the picture now, I was just getting red cross last week.

A lovely tribute on your blog.

Hi Jo,
was really upset when I heard of the loss of dear supersprout, did not know her well, but was overwhelmed at the thought that someone dying would take the time to send me Jerusalem artichokes only 1 week before she passed away,
such kindness certainly restores your faith in human nature, long may they grow in her name and I will try to pass them onto as many friends as possible...V.P

I got mine then too VP and it was only after last Thursday, when I was going through my pms that I found two long mails from SS telling me how to grow them! How I cried ! We'll have to chat to them as they grow, show them off to our friends and spread them (and their gasses) far and wide after we've harvested.
